1. What SyncToSheet does
SyncToSheet is a tool that lets you copy LinkedIn profile or company data into your own Google Sheets. You install a browser extension and connect your Google account. When you are on a LinkedIn profile or company page in your own browser, you choose to sync that page; the data is then sent from your browser to your chosen Google Sheet. We do not scrape LinkedIn. We do not access LinkedIn on your behalf. The sync is started by you, in your browser, and the data goes only to the sheet you have connected.
2. No scraping
We do not scrape, crawl, or automatically collect data from LinkedIn or any other site. All data that reaches your sheet is data that you see on your screen and that you explicitly choose to sync by clicking our extension. The extension runs only in your browser when you use it. We are not breaking any platform rules; you are using your own session and your own actions to move data you can already see into your own spreadsheet.
3. What we store
To provide the service we store: your email and account details when you sign in with Google; your Google OAuth tokens (so we can append rows to the sheet you select); and your automation settings (e.g. which sheet and which fields to sync). We do not store the LinkedIn data you sync; it goes from your browser to Google Sheets via our backend only for the purpose of writing that single row. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
4. Data protection for sensitive data
We protect your data with industry-standard measures:
- Encryption in transit: All data between your browser, our servers, and Google is sent over HTTPS (TLS).
- Encryption at rest: Sensitive data (including OAuth tokens and account details) is stored in databases with encryption at rest where available.
- Access control: Access to systems that store user data is restricted to authorized personnel and protected by authentication and access policies.
- Token storage: Google OAuth tokens are stored securely and used only to perform actions you have authorized (e.g. writing to the spreadsheet you selected). We do not share tokens with third parties.
- Minimal data: We collect and store only what is necessary to provide the sync service (account identifiers, automation settings, tokens). We do not store the content of the data you sync beyond what is needed to write it to your sheet.
5. Google permissions and use of Google user data
SyncToSheet requests limited Google permissions so you can connect a spreadsheet and sync data into it:
- https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file — This scope gives SyncToSheet access only to Google Drive files that (1) the app creates for you (e.g. when you create a new spreadsheet from SyncToSheet), or (2) you explicitly select or open with SyncToSheet (e.g. when you choose an existing spreadsheet in the app). We do not access your entire Google Drive or any files you have not connected to SyncToSheet.
- https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email — Used to identify your account when you sign in (e.g. to associate your automations and sheet with you).
What we do with Google user data: We use the above access only to (1) list spreadsheets you have given the app access to, (2) create new spreadsheets when you choose “Create new spreadsheet” in the app, (3) list sheet tabs inside a spreadsheet you connected, and (4) append rows of data (the LinkedIn profile or company data you chose to sync) to the specific sheet and spreadsheet you configured. We do not read, copy, or use your Google data for any other purpose. We do not use Google user data for advertising.
6. Sharing, transfer, and disclosure of Google user data
We do not share, transfer, or disclose Google user data with any third parties. Google user data (including OAuth tokens, spreadsheet IDs you connect, and the row data we write to your sheet) is used only by SyncToSheet’s own systems to perform the actions you request: for example, to append a row to the Google Sheet you selected. We do not sell Google user data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties. We do not use it for purposes unrelated to providing the sync service. Our infrastructure providers (e.g. hosting) process data only to run our service and under our instructions; we do not allow them to use Google user data for their own purposes.
7. Retention and deletion of Google user data
What we store related to Google: When you connect a Google account, we store your Google account email, OAuth access and refresh tokens (so we can write to the spreadsheet you choose), and automation settings that reference your chosen spreadsheet. We do not access or store the contents of your Google Drive or other Google data beyond what is needed to append rows to the sheet you select.
Retention: We retain Google-related data (tokens, linked account, automation settings) for as long as your SyncToSheet account is active and you have connected that Google account. If you disconnect a Google account in the app, we stop using the tokens and remove or deactivate the link to that account. Stored tokens may be retained for a short period for technical cleanup and are then removed.
Deletion: You can delete your Google user data at any time by (1) disconnecting your Google account in SyncToSheet (Connections / Google accounts), which revokes our access to that account and stops use of the tokens, and (2) deleting your SyncToSheet account if you want all of your data removed. Upon account deletion we delete or anonymize your account data, including Google account links and related settings. You may also revoke SyncToSheet’s access at any time from your Google Account permissions, which will stop our ability to access your Google data. If you want a copy of your data or need help with deletion, contact us using the details in the Contact section below.
8. Google and LinkedIn
Your use of Google Sheets is subject to Google’s terms and privacy policy. Your use of LinkedIn is subject to LinkedIn’s terms and policies. We are not affiliated with LinkedIn or Google. By using SyncToSheet you are responsible for complying with those services’ rules and for how you use the data you sync.
